Apple Podcasts’ New Features

Apple is releasing a couple of notable upgrades inside Apple Podcasts with iOS 26.2, and if you’re running a show (or thinking about starting one), these tools are worth paying attention to.

🎯 Chapters

Apple is using AI to automatically generate chapters based on the content, so listeners can now jump straight to the moments they care about. You can add your own chapters, or Apple will auto-generate them for English shows.

🖼️ Image Support for Chapters

If you upload chapters through your hosting provider, you can also attach images. It’s a tiny upgrade that makes the listening experience feel polished and intentional.

🔗 Timed Links

Mention an artist, show, or article? You can now attach links that pop up at the exact moment you talk about them; however, it must be a link within the Apple ecosystem (Apple Music, Apple News, Apple TV, etc.). The links will pop up in a banner in the Now Playing screen and show up in the transcript and episode details page, according to The Verge.

🤝 Auto-Generated Links (Beta)

If you mention another podcast, Apple may automatically create a link for you. Great for cross-promotion, and you can turn it off if you want total control.
